Dr. Michael Osborne (Certified Chiropractic Wellness Doctor)

I was born in San Francisco and lived in lower Michigan the majority of my life. Since my grandparents were from the copper country, I spent most of my summers in the U.P. As a little boy, I remember standing on the shore of Lake Superior right here in Marquette and thinking that I would like to live here one day. I even tried to purchase this practice seventeen years ago but the timing just wasn’t right. Well here I am! If nothing else, I am persistent.

I graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic in South Carolina in 1995. It was one of the most challenging and at the same time rewarding experiences I ever had. Later in my career, I went on to receive a post certification in wellness. I received my Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner Certification (C.C.W.P.) in 2008. I had the privilege of studying under Dr. James Chestnut of Victoria, Canada who is one of the leading authorities on wellness and chiropractic in the world.

I have been happily married to my wife, Lynn, for eighteen years and have four wonderful children: Peyton, Sydney, Avery and Brady. We also have a bird and two companion doggies named Maddie and Willow. You may have already met them since they love to visit the office. As you can see, we are busy!

My practice philosophy is simple: how you CHOOSE to eat, move, and think will not only dictate the quality of your life but how long you live. I’m here to help you achieve a longer, happier, and healthier life through chiropractic and teaching proper lifestyle implementation.

I lead a health conscious lifestyle. I work out with weights three to four days per week. I also walk every day weather permitting and stretch daily. I am a voracious reader who believes in life-long learning and self improvement; I average about an hour per day. My eating habits are better than most even though I do enjoy a bowl of chocolate ice cream and my wife’s homemade chocolate chip cookies on occasion. I also enjoy being outside, fishing and spending quality time with my family.

I consider myself an excellent listener and an expert on chiropractic, stress and its effect on human health and function. I hope I have the opportunity to meet you in person to discuss your specific health challenges, your personal goals and how we can help you reach them.

Dr. Bethany Vallar

Born and raised a Yooper, I was blessed to come back to the UP to do my dream job of being a Chiropractor. I did my undergrad here at NMU then went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic. While I was at Palmer I was able to travel to Brazil for a chiropractic mission trip; what an amazing time and learning experience! It made my love of chiropractic even stronger.

I enjoy spending time outside and am happiest being by Lake Superior. I enjoy fishing with my Dad during the summer (but I won’t touch the fish). I love to cook, so ask and I can give you a recipe or you can give me a new one to try. I enjoy reading and usually have several books going at once. I travel as much as I can. I enjoy spending time in Madison WI with my nephews. In my spare time, I can also be found chasing around my puppies, Parker and Paisley. They are Silky Terriers and they sure keep me on my toes!

Raised in Waterford, Michigan, my greatest escape was traveling to the U.P.  Swimming and kayaking in Lake Superior, skiing at Mt. Marquette and Bohemia, hiking, camping, and mushroom hunting parts of the North Country Trail. For years I envied the lifestyle of folks from Marquette and surrounding towns for having all of this in their backyards. During the summer of 2017 my four-legged companion, Lou, and I headed north to further pursue our careers as a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Master Squirrel Hunter.
I graduated from Irene’s Myomassology Institute located in Southfield, Michigan. Myomassology is a term used to describe massage, which includes therapeutic modalities beyond Swedish massage. Here I learned a multitude of techniques and information relating to the human body. My practice includes reflexology, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, myofacial release, and sports massage including active/passive movement(s). I am also knowledgeable in prenatal and side-lying massage. My goal is to help you recognize where your daily tensions or restrictions stem from and how to subside them. Massage therapy is fascinating to me because it is one of the oldest health care practices known to history and I want to share that with you! I am extremely excited and proud to be working with Dr. Mike and Dr. Bethany here at the office and can not wait to meet you!

I am the official wonder dog of the office. My dad thinks I’m really well behaved; what he doesn’t know is that I do it all for extra dog treats. I am usually at the office at least a few days a week. If I give my dad my sad puppy dog eyes in the morning he usually breaks down and will bring me extra days. I have him wrapped around my paw… See, I love going and seeing all my friends at the office. I’m not above giving you a kiss or nibbling on your ear so make sure you say hello to me when you’re here.
